June Meeting:

Mona called the meeting to order at 10:08 am. Raffle tickets were passed included two buttons provided by Nancy V. Twenty members answered roll call plus two guests, Tracy J. and Nancy D. As it is her third meeting, Karla C. was invited to join the SDBC.  Buttons and other items not related to the program were shared. The minutes were approved as corrected. Marion presented the Treasurer's Report. The buying committee, Nancy V. along with Susan and Marion, is currently evaluating the collection of Nancy Whitefield Rhodes -- more info later. The raffle was held, and $40.75 was raised.

Sandy G. and Mona reported on the 'new' club button proposal.  Several members brought 'old' buttons to use for a mold.  Mona will check each and use the ones in best condition, make a mold at the end of the meeting, and bring it to the next meeting for evaluation.

It was followed by a program on scrimshaw buttons by Nancy V.
She, along with other members, presented numerous buttons for viewing and gave
a very interesting background of the materials, construction and value of scrimshaw buttons.
